I used to cover my blotchy skin with foundation. Then, I’d add a layer of concealer on the dark circles under my eyes.
This was largely because I ate the Standard American Diet. So my unhealthy food choices showed up on my face.
However, after switching to organic food, I didn’t need to wear makeup anymore. Within a few months, my skin was much healthier. The rings under my eyes had also faded, and they’re now less noticeable.
But it wasn’t just what I put in my body that was apparently causing problems. I was also putting a lot of poisons on my skin. So I had to replace everything, with safe alternatives. Even my favorite mascara had to go. It was loaded with chemicals, and probably heavy metals as well. My shampoo, conditioner, hair gel and facial moisturizer needed upgrades too.

This taught me a much-needed lesson. Much better options exist, for everything from mascara to hair color.
For instance, did you know that chemical hair dyes are linked to cancer? Over time, these products ruin your hair. For covering gray, I’ve found that pure natural henna hair dye that works just as well. Plus, it conditions your hair and temporarily increases its volume. You can use it as often as you like, because it contains no chemicals.
Best All Natural Beauty Products
It was a difficult switch. I’d grown used to these toxic products. I needed to get over the long-ingrained notion that chemical cosmetics are superior to natural ingredients. In fact, the opposite is true. A number of plants contain everything we need to keep our skin moist and supple. God’s creations, I’ve learned, are far better than laboratory formulations.
Everything I needed to replace my beauty products was readily available. It was already sitting on my pantry shelf. Or, it could be ordered online.
Since I’ve stopped putting chemicals on my face, several people have told me how much better I look.
All Natural Beauty Product Lines
Admittedly, going all natural is a big adjustment. The hardest part is changing your diet. If you decide to do this, you’ll want to break this process down into manageable steps.
The easiest first step is to get rid of your chemical skin moisturizer. Trust me, you won’t miss it, once you see how well natural moisturizers work.
Each night, after I shower, I put organic rosehip oil on my face. The first couple of days after I did this, I noticed a distinct reduction in the lines around my eyes.
I’ve tried a couple of brands of rosehip oil . The first worked pretty well. But the second did a much better job. So that’s the one I’m sticking with.
So, in the future, I’ll be using Aura Cacia Organic Rosehip Oil as my new anti-aging weapon. Rosehip oil is derived from the bulbs of the rose. The oil used in this particular product comes from Chilean roses, and it’s amazing.

Frankincense Essential Oil for Wrinkles
I’ve found that natural remedies work best if you rotate them. So another wrinkle fighter I own is frankincense essential oil. I’ve noticed this aromatic oil is also a good exfoliator. When I put it on my skin, I notice it seems to also remove a layer dead skin off. But it does this without irritation.
Women throughout the Middle East are very aware of this beauty “secret,” and have been for centuries. Cleopatra is reputed to have used this on her skin.
Because frankincense oil is strong, it needs to be diluted with a carrier oil, such as avocado oil or jojoba oil. So I use a product that’s already diluted, so I don’t have to worry about mixing it if I’m in a hurry.
Frankincense is an aromatic resin. It comes from the Middle Eastern boswellia tree. It can be very expensive. You could pay a fortune for this oil. But you don’t need to, especially for general skin care. Aura Cacia frankincense shown here (premixed with jojoba) works just fine for toning and conditioning your skin.

With this product, you’re getting a bonus. Jojoba oil is derived from a desert plant. This oil has its own beauty enhancing properties, since it closely resembles human sebum. This is why it’s often found in natural cosmetics.
Shampoo Without Sulfates Parabens
Finding a non-toxic shampoo has been difficult. I’ll admit I haven’t been able to do this 100 percent. So, right now, I settle for brands made without sulfates or parabens, which may be linked to breast cancer.
Parabens are of great concern because they mimic the female hormone estrogen. They’re widely present in the environment, and they’re found in nearly all cosmetics. They’re added as preservatives. However, essential oils, such as rosemary, also keep germs from growing.
If you’re looking for a good shampoo that doesn’t contain a lot of potentially hazardous chemicals, Maple Holistics Argan Oil Shampoo is a good choice.
It contains mostly plant-based ingredients, along with Moroccan argan oil. This has been used for centuries in North Africa to condition dry skin and hair.

Once you stop using harsh shampoos, you may find that you no longer need to condition your hair. This is what I noticed. But I do use henna about once a week or so to cover the gray. This treatment also makes my hair soft and shiny.
Rainbow Henna for Hair
The commercial hair color I was using to hide the flecks of gray was also ruining my hair. I noticed it was becoming finer, and the only thing that could temporarily bring it back to life was another application. Just as distressing, once the color washed out, my normally dark shade was now a mousy brown. It was a vicious cycle. I needed to break it.
My then teenage daughter recommended henna.
The first brand I purchased was disastrous. My hair became dry and damaged, and a brassy shade of red. Then, I discoved Rainbow Henna, made from organic plant compounds.
This product comes in a variety of shades. It really does cover gray. It also gives your hair added body and shine. There are no harmful ingredients, so you can use it as often as you like.
It’s also easy to apply. You simply add boiling water and mix in the required amount. Then you let it cool a bit before putting it on your hair, before rinsing it out one hour later.

Pure Natural Liquid Hand Soap
Sodium lauryl sulfate, a toxic foaming agent, is found even in “organic” and “all natural” soaps. That’s why you need to scan the labels.
I needed to replace my facial cleanser. The first product I tried was a liquid castile soap brand that dried my skin. At first, I tried a very well-known brand. It worked very well and I loved it.
But, soon, I realized I needed to find an alternative. So I switched to a lesser-known label named Dr. Woods. I consider it one of my best finds ever. I like this brand because it’s really strong. So I can stretch it by diluting it, and it still has a lot of cleaning power. As far as I’m concerned, it also works even better than my previous brand, and it has a strong peppermint smell. (They didn’t skimp on the essential oils when making this soap.)

Natural Mascara Reviews
Mascara can legally contain mercury, a toxic heavy metal. This is a frightening reality, especially consider how often women use this product.
Mercury can potentially enter your system when mascara flakes off. It lands on the delicate skin around your eyes, where it can be absorbed by your body.
For years, I unknowingly applied mercury to my eyelashes. Now, I have no more worries because I use a brand called Physician’s Formula Jumbo Lash Mascara. It works every bit as well as the drugstore brands, and it seems to smudge a lot less, than the brand.
Physician’s Formula has the added bonus of not clumping when you apply it to your lashes.
You can easily find safer substitutes for all of your cosmetics, and mascara is no exception. This is the best mascara I’ve ever used.

How To Make All Natural Hair Gel
I don’t need to buy organic hair gel because it’s so easy to make. With just two ingredients, water and flax seeds – you can whip up a batch of gooey gel on your stove. I use one cup of water and two heaping tablespoons of flax. Then I boil it on medium heat for about 12 minutes. Some people recommend straining the seeds, so all you have left is the gel. However, I simply pour the mixture in a glass mug or jar. The seeds settle to the bottom, and I use the gel that forms on the top. This mixture must be refrigerated, and it will last about 10 days. You can also add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil to make it smell nice.
