Some people take Bach flower remedies to help them sleep.
These gentle flower essences were created by Dr. Edward Bach, MD.
He was a British physician who spent much of his career developing a new form of homeopathy.
The end result was a line of user-friendly remedies.
Compared to classical homeopathy, Bach flower essences are much easier to work with.
They are also very gentle, which is probably not surprising, since they’re made from delicate blossoms.
Rather than working with standardized remedies, made from highly diluted poisons, Dr. Bach used extracts made from non-toxic flowers.
This is why they’re often referred to as Bach Flower Remedies or Bach Flower Essences.

Dr. Bach conducted his research while operating on the theory that a troubled mind can cause physical problems.
If left unchecked, this could progress to serious illness.

Likewise, he believed that getting to the root of the problem, by addressing the emotional imbalance, often leads to recovery.
Bach Flower Essence Agrimony
Dr. Bach developed 38 different remedies made from flower essences. They are homeopathic dilutions in a very low potency, so they tend to be more gentle than regular remedies.
Bach Flower Remedies for Anxiety
He believed each flower in his repertory could correct a different emotional state. Mixing several remedies together would result in endless combinations, more than enough to create a custom treatment plan for everyone on the planet.
I’ve taken these remedies myself from time to time. Although I realize this is only anecdotal evidence, they do seem to work for me. My own homeopath also seems to think they’re effective, based upon her experience.

Agrimony Bach Flower Remedy
One of Dr. Bach’s flower remedies is called agrimony. It is made from a perennial herb that grows in temperate regions, primarily in the Northern Hemisphere. It has long been used, by various traditional cultures, as a folk remedy to address a wide range of ills.
Bach Flower Remedies to Sleep
However, Dr. Bach found that diluting agrimony with water can help people overcome an unhealthy fear of conflict. This can prevent them from saying what they truly feel. However, this calm, cheerful exterior can hide a troubled mind. A person in an agrimony state may suffer from anxiety that prevents them from sleeping well. Deep down, they are not happy. This, in turn, may result in various addictions.
According to the British-based Bach Center, someone with this profile may be helped by agrimony.
Normally flower essences can be self prescribed. You don’t necessarily need to work with a practitioner. Agrimony may be the exception because it can bring a lot of buried emotions to the surface. So you may want to seek out someone more experienced in flower essence therapy before taking it.
