    Where to Buy Vegan Lipstick

    October 27, 2016 in Non-toxic beauty products

where to buy vegan lipstickThere are some ingredients in lipstick you probably don’t like.

If you’re a vegan, you may be looking for cosmetics made without animal products. Also, you probably want to find a cruelty-free brand.

Everyone else, though, should also be concerned about other additives, including those that are potentially dangerous. Believe it or not, it’s legal to add toxic heavy metals, such as lead and cadmium, to women’s cosmetics. So, with lipstick especially, you want to shop carefully.

That’s because lipstick is something you put on your lips. Some of it, invariably, ends up inside your mouth.

Lipstick is also something that many women apply repeatedly throughout the day. Choosing a safe brand allows you to avoid cumulative heavy metal exposure.

So, what’s my pick? There are several good excellent brands on the market, typically sold online. But, right now, I want to tell you about 100 Percent Pure vegan and cruelty-free lipsticks. That’s because it fits all the criteria. There are no animal products used. Plus, all of the other ingredients are totally natural.

    Vegan Cruelty Free Lipstick

Knowing what I know about some of the ingredients added to women’s cosmetics, I wouldn’t even consider discussing a lipstick that contained heavy metals or hormone-disrupting parabens.

Frankly, I’m appalled that such lax safety standards exist in the first place. Why doesn’t everyone know about this? Why aren’t pregnant women warned about the problem of lead in lipstick?

Anyway, several years ago, I went through my bathroom cabinet and cleaned out my cosmetics. They went into the trash. Then I replaced them with with plant-based products. At first, I thought I was going to miss these toxic concoctions. But I was happily surprised. The natural stuff worked even better.

    Benefits of Natural Cosmetics

Using only natural ingredients on my skin has made a huge difference. I no longer feel the need to wear foundation to cover up my blotchy skin. That’s because it’s not blotchy anymore. I no longer put cover up under my eyes to hide the dark circles. They haven’t totally gone away. But they’re no longer as noticeable, after I started eating organic food and using 100 Percent Pure Coffee Bean eye cream. I’m so happy to have found this eye cream, which has partially solved a problem that’s been plaguing me for years.

    Vegan Lipstick Ingredients

The first ingredient in the 100 Percent Pure line of natural matte lipsticks is cocoa butter. The next is natural shea butter, a rich moisturizer that’s been safely used for ages in Africa. Shea butter comes from the nut of a tree that grows in dry, arid regions. Shea butter is one of the best moisturizers I’ve ever come across.

There are multiple shades of matte vegan lipstick, colored with fruit pigments. Rice powder is what gives the lipsticks a matte-style finish. There are a variety of colors in the new lipstick line, including sandstone, blood orange, currant, prickly pear, cactus bloom, Sonora, Marrakesh, hyacinth and tempest (this is a purplish shade, colored with blueberries.) Below, you can see one shade of the 100 percent pure vegan matte lipstick. But it comes in more than two dozen other shades.

    Vegan Gluten Free Lipstick

Another thing I forgot to mention is that the 100 Percent Pure lipsticks are also gluten free. This is a big plus for the seemingly growing number of people with Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. Also, 100 Percent Pure Cosmetics do not contain chemical perfumes or artificial dyes. They also contain natural anti-oxidants that help protect against free radical damage.

    Vegan Long Lasting Lipstick

These lipstick you see above contain no parabens. Unfortunately, parabens are found in so many beauty products. These chemicals are used as preservatives. But the ugly truth is that they mimic the effects of estrogen. That’s why they’re also known as “hormone disruptors.” There is growing fear that parabens and other hormone disruptors are one factor contributing to the current breast cancer epidemic. In the United States, 1 out of every 8 women is diagnosed with the disease.

The more I learn about cosmetic safety, the more I realize that all natural is the only way to go. Since this is a natural health site, I also want to alert my readers to the dangerous ingredients that may be lurking in their current brand of lipstick.
