Christmas is a magical time of year. We decorate our house and we visit with family and friends.
During this wonderful season, in which we celebrate the birth of Christ, we want our home to look its best.
We also want it to smell nice.
In seasons past, I used chemical air fresheners. I’d burn a scented candle on the stove. I’d warm some pretty incense in a special burner.
At the time, I didn’t realize I was polluting the air. Most candles are made from paraffin, instead of wax. This substance is derived from the petroleum industry. When it burns, it releases toxic compounds into the air, similar to diesel exhaust.
Nowadays, I use only pure natural frankincense and various essential oil blends to freshen the air. This goes for my house, as well as my car.
For instance, I never use those little pine-scented “trees” that hang on the rear-view mirror. That’s because these are made with questionable substances. Instead, before I drive, I sprinkle a few drops of aromatic oil on a tissue. I place this tissue in the space between the driver and the passenger seat. People who’ve ridden in my car have told me how nice it smells. Pure natural essential oils eliminate the need for toxic air fresheners.
Christmas Essential Oil Blend Recipe
Here is a Christmas essential oil blend recipe you can use in your diffuser. It will be especially nice if you are expecting company, as your house will have a warm fragrance. These scents are real, created by God, and not made by man in the laboratory. Instead of potentially making us sick, they contain germ-fighting substances. Researchers are also discovering that many essential oils also contain powerful compounds that appear to fight cancer, at least in a petri dish.
- 4 drops of organic sweet orange oil. With this aromatic, it’s best to buy it organically, because herbicides and fungicides are often used on orange crops. Organic sweet orange oil is available here.
- 3 drops of nutmeg oil (available here)
- 1 drop of cinnamon oil (available here)
- 1 drop of clove oil (available here)
Put these oils in an aromatherapy diffuser filled with pure spring water. Turn it on and enjoy. The oils I recommend are sold by Plant Therapy. This is where I’ve gotten a number of my oils, and I absolutely love them. I also love telling people about Plant Therapy because I know it’s one of the best alternatives to MLM oils. I realize not everyone likes to shop this way.
Plant Therapy Holiday Blend
Plant Therapy’s mission is to make the excellent oils, and make them available to a wide range of people. I have absolutely no doubt these oils are safe and effective. They are tested twice for purity, and one of these tests is conducted independently. These are oils I can use and recommend with confidence. If you don’t feel like mixing your own oils together, Plant Therapy Holiday Season Synergy Blend is also available. It contains a Christmas-like mix of oils similar to the recipe above.
