What did I get my mother for Christmas last year? Actually, she was very easy to shop for. That’s because she’s starting to become interested in essential oils.
Essential Oils for Mother’s Day

So what will I get her for Mother’s Day? Probably more wonderful aromatic oils to add to her growing collection.
Essential oils are what an increasing number of health-conscious people are using, in order to alleviate aches and pains, colds and flu, as well as headaches and muscle strains, instead of using pharmaceuticals, which can have potentially dangerous side effects.
Even common over-the-counter medications, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, can result in fatal complications. Although this is a rare outcome, I decided I don’t want to take the chance, especially when safer alternatives exist?
That’s why, when I have a pounding headache, I add a few drops of peppermint oil to a carrier oil, such as olive oil. Then I apply it to my forehead and temples for instant relief. I do the same when I have a mild neck ache or shoulder ache. Although I can’t promise it will do the same for you, it does seem to banish my pain.
Lavender oil is another popular natural remedy. If you suffer from stress or anxiety, it appears to act as a natural sedative.
Essential Oil Gifts for Your Mother
Anyway, since my mother is becoming more aware of what these oils can do, I wanted to send her a book, so she could learn more about them. I thought the one shown below would be great for a beginner.

For me, essential oils replace the over-the-counter pain medications I used to use, and no longer need. The most common “side effect,” if you can call them that, is that using an essential oil for another purpose has the added benefit of improving my mood. All of the oils seem to either relax my frazzled nerves or give me an energizing boost, depending upon the particular one I select.
Of course, this is only my personal opinion only, since I’m not a medical professional. Drugs do have their place. They can be lifesaving. Never stop taking a prescription without consulting your doctor. Never disregard medical advice and do not neglect seeking treatment because of something you read here.
Essential Oils for Mom
I’m really happy my mother is thinking more about essential oils. Sometimes, she is gripped with worries about the welfare of her children and grandchildren. Lavender oil is one of the oils I bought for my mother. It’s a very calming aromatic.
This is probably the single best oil for a beginner, as it’s believed to contains powerful antimicrobial compounds. It’s often used for wound healing and for healing the skin if you happen to stay out in the sun too long. It also seems to help with insomnia. I think I’ve inherited my mother’s propensity to worry. So, at night, I often sprinkle a few drops of lavender oil on my pillow to help me sleep.

Aromatherapy Diffusers for Essential Oils
One of the best ways to enjoy the scent of lavender oil is to put it in a diffuser. This is especially beneficial if you’ve had a long day and want to unwind. Last Christmas, I also ordered my mother a diffuser, so she could reap the full benefits of this calming, peace-inducing oil.
