    Herbs To Help Hair Growth

December 15, 2017 in Herbal remedies, Non-toxic beauty products

herbs to help hair growthHair loss is very distressing. That’s even more true if you’re a woman. I know, because it happened to me. My problem may not have been obvious to others. But I could see lots of hair being lost in the shower, whenever I shampooed. Also, if I looked close, I could see my hair had thinned on the top of my head.

I’ve dealt with hair loss at least three times that I remember. Each incident was brought on by stress. Two times, the problem resolved itself. The third time I wasn’t taking any chances. I took action, using a variety of natural approaches based on plant medicine.

It goes without saying that I tried to reduce my level of stress. I also used a special essential oil recipe. I’ll tell you more about this later. Because I like attacking things from different angles, I also invested in a special shampoo and condition designed to restore the hair. Also, I regularly take an herbal supplement that contains natural B-complex vitamins, as well as herbal adaptogens.

It’s believed that hair loss is caused by having an excess of a hormone known as dihydrotestosterone. This is also known as DHT. This is true, whether you are male or female. The various hair loss shampoos on the market contain what’s known as DHT blockers.

DHT is an androgen. It’s produced in the body from testosterone. Both men and women naturally have testosterone circulating in their bloodstream. It’s possible that chronic low level stress can lead to hormone imbalances, which then result in hair loss.

    Herbs to Help Hair Growth

I use the word “herbs” loosely in this article. By that, I refer to any plant-based approach to treating hair loss as an herbal remedy. I need to stress that I can’t claim or promise that any natural remedy will help your hair grow back. All I can do is share my personal experience of what I did, when I noticed my hair was thinning. It hadn’t reached the point where anyone else would notice. But I worried this would happen, if I didn’t do something quickly.

The first thing I did was ordered some essential oils. That’s because I already knew about a special essential oil recipe scientifically proven to stop hair loss. It can also lead to regrowth. Not everyone in the study who tried these essential oils saw the results they wanted. But enough people did, to make the findings statistically significant.

I hoped I’d be among the 45 percent who could expect good results, from applying four essential oils to my head. So I ordered some cedarwood essential oil and some thyme essential oil. I already owned everything else I’d need.

I’m female. But this recipe is not just for women. Men can use it as well. I didn’t apply the oils are religiously as the people did in the study. But I did use them. Here’s the recipe I used.

1 ounce of jojoba oil (This is the same carrier oil used in the study. Jojoba has a chemical makeup similar to human sebum. If you don’t have jojoba oil, it’s available here. I had grapeseed oil in the house, and that’s what I used.

3 drops of lavender essential oil (It’s available here)

3 drops of cedarwood essential oil (It’s available here)

3 drops of rosemary essential oil (It’s available here)

3 drops of thyme essential oil (It’s available here)

I mixed these ingredients together and massaged into my scalp. I left this on my head for about 1/2 hour, before I washed it out.

    Remedies for Female Hair Loss

I liked how the essential oil treatment made my hair feel afterward. It was soft, and it had a lot of body. For that reason alone, it would have been worth doing periodically.

However, I found that using a special herbal hair loss shampoo was much easier. I ordered this immediately after realizing I was losing too much hair.

Herbs to Make Hair Grow Back

So after a few weeks, I stopped using the essential oils altogether, and relied instead upon an herbal shampoo called Pura d’Or, which is designed to prevent hair loss. I can’t say enough about this product, which I’ve now been using for months. It seems to have stopped my hair loss, and seems to have even led to regrowth.

I no longer notice lots of hair falling out every time I shower. And I no longer notice the thinning on top of my head. I’m so happy I heard about this shampoo, so I could use it right away, as a preemptive strike against hair loss. Pura d’Or Gold Label Shampoo contains a number of herbs designed to correct thinning hair. You’re supposed to leave it on your head for at least two minutes before rinsing it off.

    Natural Supplements to Grow Hair

Another way to attack hair loss is to take an herbal remedy internally. Although I need to stress that I’m not a doctor, and I can’t claim any product will work for you, I can share information about various hair loss supplements on the market. One is known as Nourish Beaute Hair Loss Supplement, and it contains a mix of herbs and vitamins.

I didn’t order a specific herbal hair loss formula because I already have so many herbs in the house. So I decided to use what I had on hand. One of my favorite herbal remedies is called Stress Guard by Oregon’s Wild Harvest. It contains herbal adaptogens, as well as natural B-complex vitamins.

Although Oregon’s Wild Harvest Stress Guard is not marketed as a hair loss product, and its manufacturer makes no claim that it is, I decided to use it for general stress relief. That’s because I believe that stress is what triggered my hair loss in the first place.

Yes, it’s a popular carrier oil and is considered an excellent skin remedy. I personally wouldn’t use it if I had an allergy to tree nuts. But otherwise I would, and I have some in the house.
