At one time, I thought homeopathy was crazy. That’s because I listened only to mainstream medical sources.
However, that was only until both of my children developed medical problems.
At first, I took them to conventional doctors. But, then, it became clear that mainstream medicine didn’t offer a good solution.
In desperation, I began seeing a homeopath. My children responded really well to the various remedies. I soon developed a deep appreciation for this long-neglected healing art that’s finally starting to make a comeback. Homeopathy was developed more than 200 years ago by a German physician. But, with the advent of pharmaceuticals, people seemed to forget about it.

In recent years, this form of healing has become much better known. You can now find specific homeopathic anxiety remedies designed for children.
Using Homeopathy on Children
Please understand I’m not a medical professional, so I’m not offering advice of any kind. Also, I can’t promise that any particular remedy will solve anyone’s health problems. All I’m doing is sharing my story of how homeopathy helped my children. I always kept in close contact with our regular doctor. In our quest to make our our children well again, we consulted with at least a dozen professionals. The ones who helped us most were the homeopaths.
It’s believed that homeopathic remedies gently nudge your body toward healing. I noticed that when my children were young, they seemed to heal much faster than adults.
Homeopathic Remedy for Anxiety in Children
Anxiety, unfortunately, is very common among children. Nearly all of the hundreds of regular homeopathic remedies will help. But only if you choose a well-selected remedy. With hundreds of choices, it’s difficult to narrow the selection. That’s why it’s necessary to work with a professional. I also think this is how you’ll find the best results. (There is another type of homeopathy that’s much easier to use, which I’ll tell you about in a minute.)
If you’re looking for a good homeopath, my best suggestion is asking at your local health food stores. These operations are amazingly good sources of alternative medical information.
Regular homeopathy is highly individualized. Remedies are selected based upon a constellation of symptoms. So what works for one child probably won’t work for another. However, there is a type of homeopathy known as Bach Flower Remedies. These are much more generalized and user friendly.
Rescue Remedy for Children
Rescue Remedy is one of the Bach Flower Essences. This gentle homeopathic remedy was developed by a British homeopath named Dr. Edward Bach. He became disillusioned with regular homeopathy. (I’m still a big fan of regular homeopathy. But I realize it’s often hard to find the right remedy. Also, if you take too many doses, you run the risk of aggravations, or a temporary increase in symptoms.)
However, Dr. Bach’s remedies are meant to get around these problems. It’s pretty easy to select the right remedy. They are very specific and there are only 38 different ones to choose from.
Rescue Remedy for Chldren
These formulas are designed not to aggravate. However, my own homeopath advises moderation, even with Bach remedies. If one dose does the job, she says don’t give another. Repeat a dose only if the first wears off. This is the rule I live by when taking regular remedies or Bach remedies.
Rescue Remedy appears to be Dr. Bach’s masterpiece. It’s a blend of five flower essences to relieve short-term acute anxiety. This special blend of Bach Kids Rescue Remedy is made without the alcohol you find in the adult version. Instead, it’s preserved with glycerin.
