Herbal fertility remedies are becoming extremely popular. In the United States, 1 out of every 10 couples have difficulty conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to term. These formulas are an excellent option for people who don’t want to do high-tech treatments, for whatever reason.

A handful of companies now sell herbal fertility teas and natural fertility supplements. Most are designed for women, but a few are made for men. In the near future, as more people realize that certain herbs can and do lead to pregnancy, as one study has shown, these remedies will likely become much more accepted, even among mainstream medical professionals.
Nearly all of the blends for women contain the herb chasteberry. This is also called vitex. A large flowering shrub, native to the Mediterranean, vitex has been used over the centuries for various medicinal purposes. Modern researchers are now giving it a new look.
The berries from the Vitex agnus-castus tree are believed to strengthen the reproductive system, in both women and men. Herbalists often recommend it for women who have short cycles, as it may correct a luteal phase imbalance, caused by low progesterone.
How Long Does it Take Fertility Blend to Work?
One 2006 study showed Fertility Blend, a supplement containing chasteberry, as well as other ingredients, did lead to an increase in progesterone levels among the group of women taking it. Even more exciting was that this formula often led to pregnancy, even among couples who’d been trying to conceive without success.
This same study found that 26 percent of women who took a dietary supplement called Fertility Blend were pregnant after three months. After six months, this figure climbed to 32 percent. So it seems reasonable to give this formula at at least a three-month trial.
Where Can I Get Fertility Blend?
Fertility Blend seen below contains chasteberry, as well as green tea and the amino acid L-Arginine, in addition to B Vitamins and other nutrients, such as iron, magnesium and zinc.

What’s In Fertility Blend?
A number of other companies now market similar products. If I were shopping for an herbal fertility product, such as Fertility Blend, I’d choose one that contains whole herbs, instead of isolates or extracts. That’s because most herbalists believe that the entire plant contains many active ingredients that work together in synergy. Many of these compounds are little studied. Isolating a single ingredient likely removes many benefits.
How to Find Good Fertility Supplements
Some of the lower-end fertility supplements seem to contain more laboratory-made vitamins than actual herbs. If it were me, and please realize that I can’t give medical advice, I’d want to take something that had more herbs and fewer synthetic vitamins. If herbs are listed first, they’re one of the main ingredients.
But don’t confuse synthetic vitamins with certain amino acids, added to some products. These are considered helpful, especially for men.
I do need to stress that I’m not a doctor, so I can’t give health advice, orpromise that any natural fertility remedy will help you conceive. All I can do is share information that I’ve researched, and write about fertility from the perspective of someone who’s struggled to conceive.
