I love the idea of shopping locally. However, for me, it’s not always practical. That’s why I now buy a lot of my groceries online.
This way, I save countless hours. Otherwise, I’d spend a lot of time running around to different stores, in an effort to find everything I need.
Fortunately, I don’t have to. A large number of natural health food stores now do business over the Internet. They carry a huge selection of non-perishables and supplements.
I try to make health meals with real food. Mostly, I cook organic. Because I suffer from an inflammatory nerve condition, I don’t eat much wheat. So I get my various gluten-free substitutes, such as sorghum flour, at Vitacost, which carries more than 45,000 items.
On this blog, I stress the importance of eating real food and using natural remedies. However, I know this can get expensive, if you don’t know where to shop. So, every now and then, I like to offer money-saving tips.
Smarter shopping has allowed me to reign in a grocery bill that easily hit $400 a week to a more management figure.
Natural Health Food Stores Online
It’s wonderful there are so many choices when it comes to shopping for supplements and organic food online. This is good for the consumer. Because there’s a ton of competition, it’s possible to get great deals. Most of these stores run regular discounts and coupon codes, sometimes for as much as 15 percent off your total order. (Plus, regular prices tend to be much better than what you’ll find at brick-and-mortar establishments.)
Many of these virtual superstores also offer rewards programs. So you can get points for each purchase. Some of them also have referral programs. You can earn money toward future orders if a new customer buys something using your referral code. (These shoppers can then get their own referral number to share with others.)
Where to Buy Vitamins and Supplements Online
The number of Internet health food stores has increased exponentially. For years, I’ve mostly used Vitacost. I’ll continue to stick with this retailer because it appears to have some of the best prices around, and I’ve been really happy with their service. Vitacost always has nearly everything I need.
For instance, I don’t know anyone in my area that sells unprocessed organic honey. This is something I’d like to buy locally. But I can’t. So I order my honey at Vitacost, for a fraction of what I’d pay for the same brand at the grocery store.
Pureformulas Reviews
More recently, I’ve also discovered at Pureformulas. This is a newer company that carries 40,000 or more different items. I don’t always find everything I need there. But I love the fact that shipping is free on everything, regardless of the size of your order.
Pureformulas prices might be a little higher, compared to Vitacost. But the difference is pretty negligible, especially if you factor in the free shipping. Vitacost has either a $25 or $49 minimum purchase (depending upon what you buy) before free shipping kicks in.
Buy Supplements Online Free Shipping
Earlier this year, I ordered some organic shea butter from Pureformulas. This is something I meant to get at Vitacost. But I forgot. Since I didn’t want to place another large order, I used Pureformulas. It came a few days later, packed in the familiar blue and white Pureformulas box.
I love shea butter. I bought this item so I could use it to make homemade body butter. I use body butter on my own face as a night cream and also before I go out in the sun. Its luxurious and smells delicious, because I added a couple of drops of essential oils. Body butter also makes a great DIY gift.

Lucky Vitamin Free Shipping
Lucky Vitamin is another large online health food store with a huge selection of products. I find it very comparable to Vitacost, in that you can find just about everything you need under one roof, including organic and gluten-free foods. It also has deeply discounted prices and free shipping on orders over $49. Lucky Vitamin also has excellent prices. Similar to Pureformulas, it has a reward program where you can earn points for purchases, which can then be applied toward future purchases.
