    Natural Shampoo For Hair Regrowth

June 26, 2015 in Herbal remedies, Non-toxic beauty products

best hair regrowth shampoosWe’ve been led to believe that drugs are better than natural remedies.

However, many of us now realize this may not be true. Plant-based medicine can be very effective, and they don’t come with the same side effects as pharmaceuticals.

Minoxidil is commonly prescribed for thinning hair. However, the list of potential adverse reactions is frightening. These can include difficulty breathing, a racing heart and chest pain. This drug can also cause swelling in the stomach and extremities.

Our bodies seem to respond much better to botanicals, which contain nutrients and enzymes. These natural substances are easily processed. Drugs, on the other hand, are foreign compounds. Our body must work to excrete them.

What I’ve found, during my journey back to health, after I developed a severe systemic inflammation, which caused temporary hair loss, is that there’s usually a better way. This often involves not taking prescription drugs. (Of course, this is only my own opinion. Since I’m not a doctor, I can’t give medical advice or promise that any natural remedy will yield the desired results.)

Hair loss is devastating for women. As my own hair thinned I didn’t want to leave the house. Fortunately, it grew back as my body healed.

One thing I didn’t know then, which I’ve since learned, is that herbal hair loss shampoos can potentially help. These formulas contain natural compounds that block the action of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. This male hormone is the main cause of thinning hair in both men and women.

Although it doesn’t seem likely that a natural botanic shampoo can possibly have such wide-ranging effects, you apply these herbs directly to your scalp, right where they’re needed. Also, much of what you put on your body ends up in your bloodstream.

There are a number of hair loss shampoos on the market, but Pura d’Or Argan Oil shampoo is one of the most popular. This shampoo is also made without parabens or sodium lauryl sulfate. Many shampoos contain SLS, an inexpensive lathering agent. There’s evidence this harsh chemical may also contribute to hair loss.

Please understand that I’m not promising that this or any shampoo will restore your hair, or stop further loss. But I do like to pass along information about this product, and what it’s designed to do. It works for me. Occasionally, I also use a special essential oil recipe on my scalp. (You can read more about this at the end of the article, by following one of my links.)

Pura d’Or also makes a premium formula, which contains a slightly different mix of herbs. Both formulas contain argan oil, long used by women in Morocco to moisturize their skin and hair. The gold label contains a few ingredients not found in the regular shampoo, such as elderberry and willow bark extract. Both shampoos contain more than a dozen botanicals designed to restore your hair.

Shampoo For Hair Growth and Thickness

Recently, I noticed my hair was thinning once again. (This was likely caused by stress as well.) I don’t think it reached the point where other people could notice. But I wanted to get an early jump on the problem. I decided to get this premium hair loss formula, and it seems to have helped.

I used the premium gold Pura d’Or for the first few months. Now I use the formula that comes in the blue bottle. I like the blue formula much better. But I’m showing both versions here so you can decide for yourself. You’ll also want to use Pura d’Or hair loss conditioner with these hair loss formulas because they can be drying if you don’t. (For me the conditioner lasts twice as long as the shampoo.)

    Natural Solutions Female Hair Loss

During the worst of my illness, when my hair started falling out, I embarked upon a program of natural health. This included stress reduction, homeopathic remedies to balance my body and herbs to control the inflammation that was attacking my nervous system. I also cleaned up my diet and began eating organic foods. Although I have no proof that all of this helped my hair grow back, these lifestyle changes did make a huge difference in my overall health.

How can this be called either organic or hypo-allergenic, when it contains such ingredients as Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, which is a synthetic amphoteric surfactant that is known to cause allergic reaction?

Karla, this ingredient is derived from coconut. Yes, in what I believe are rare instances, it has been known to cause allergic reactions, as practically anything can, even water. These shampoos contains no SLS or parabens. I think you have to look at the bigger reason why people would be using this product. They are suffering from hair loss or thinning hair. For a woman, this is extremely distressing. This shampoo appears to be infinitely safer than hair loss drugs, which can cause side effects. These can include irregular heartbeat, breathing difficulties and unwanted hair growth on other parts of the body, including the face. People have to weigh the risks and benefits.
