For breakfast I’d often eat one of my favorite foods.
Cheese popcorn.
Many days I’d have this for lunch too.
In between I also indulged in chocolate.
Strong black coffee was my preferred breakfast drink.
Fruits and vegetables weren’t a big part of my diet.
But I also had my trusted homeopathic remedies to take care of any symptoms that popped up.
Also, my stress level was off the charts.
I put myself in toxic situations, thinking I was so strong that I could handle anything.
Toxic people no problem. I’d just let their hatred roll off my back, like raindrops.
No need to avoid them.
My lifestyle worked for years.
I felt well and I had a lot of energy.
But then I crashed.
I started getting really bad back pain.
This came on fast and furious.
However, I wasn’t too worried.
Because I had my homeopathic remedies.
Surely they would fix whatever was wrong.
So I continued eating junk and not removing myself from troublesome and abusive situations.
My health continued to deteriorate.
Despite my remedies and my knowledge of how to use them.
Soon the pain was so bad I could barely walk.
In retrospect, I was using homeopathy the wrong way.
For one, I was using this amazing healing art more allopathically.
I took a pill for every ill.
Except my pills were little white pellets.
So I was using the remedies as if they were drugs.
I expected the remedies to do all the heavy lifting.
While I sat back and waited for them to work.
Using Homeopathy The Wrong Way
Also, I was taking far too many doses.
Even though I had chosen the right remedy I didn’t know when to stop.
So I kept taking it.
As much as I wanted.
Sometimes up to 30 doses a day of a 30C remedy that seemed to help my pain.
Because no one had taught me about Minimum Dosing.
This means you don’t take any more doses than you need.
You also let the last dose finish its action before taking another dose.
Even the brilliant homeopath I worked with for years, who introduced me to and instructed me in The Murphy Method, didn’t mention the concept of Minimum Dosing.
So I overdid it with the remedies.
Plus, I was lost.
I no longer had a homeopath and I was doing this all on my own.
This was back in the day when it was REALLY hard to find a homeopath.
Especially a good one.
There were no Facebook groups filled with homeopaths.
There were no Zoom meetings.
So I studied and experimented on myself for years.
Then I was fortunate enough to meet a wonderful homeopath.
She was one of the biggest blessings I’ve ever had.
Although I knew a lot about homeopathy, I was missing a few very key concepts.
Like Minimum Dosing.
I’ll never forget her advice.
“Pretend you are riding a bicycle,” she told me. “You’re cruising along and doing fine. You don’t need another dose until you start to wobble.”
Listening to this advice changed my life.
Along with my health, which, under her care now began to improve.
I finally began to see I was doing it all wrong.
I wasn’t going to get better until I made some big changes.
No matter how many remedies I took.
Even if I stuck to Minimum Dosing.
Because I was using the remedies allopathically.
I was popping various pellets like they were candy.
With no desire to make the required lifestyle changes.
Eventually, though, things came to a head.
I had a terrible health scare and I knew I needed to clean up my lifestyle.
- So organic food replaced the processed junk I craved. This is a difficult transition. But only at first. You learn to make whole healthy meals from scratch. Once you start eating better you have more energy to shop and cook. Then you stop craving the foods that make you sick. Junk food is also filled with genetically modified ingredients. You can read more about the potential dangers of GMO’s here.
- Certain toxic people needed their walking papers. It’s important to forgive people who’ve hurt you. Not for them but for you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean they get to stick around and continue hurting you. You simply wish them well and move on. If prayer is part of your life praying for them helps you forgive.
- Chemicals and toxins. There is no need to use toxic cleaning products, shampoo, conditioner, hair spray and deodorant. Good natural alternatives exist.
The older I get the more respect I have for those little white pellets.
They are so powerful.
They can do so much to help restore health.
But they aren’t magic.
Getting well may require major lifestyle changes.
That can be the hardest pill to swallow.
