There are thousands of homeopathic remedies. Nearly all of them have the potential to reduce anxiety, provided the right one is chosen.
Homeopathy gently pushes your body to better health. So stress and tension are often the first things to go. My own homeopath tells me that positive mental changes happen first. Then you’ll notice better physical health.
However, unless you know a lot about homeopathy, and how to pick the right remedy, you’ll probably need to work with a professional.
That’s because there are so many remedies to choose from. Narrowing the field down, in order to find the best one, can be daunting. This is true even for well-trained practitioners who’ve been doing this for years.
Rescue Remedy for Anxiety

But there is a general anxiety remedy known as Rescue Remedy. It’s designed for shock, trauma and extreme stress. This is something I take on occasion, when I really need it. It was created by a British homeopath named Dr. Edward Bach, MD, who practiced in the early 1900’s.
He created a line of homeopathic flower essences that are considered easier to use than classical remedies. There are only 38 to choose from, making it infinitely easier to pick the right ones.
Bach Rescue Remedy Reviews
Please understand that I’m not a healthcare professional or a licensed homeopath. So nothing you read here is intended as medical advice. All I’m doing is sharing my personal story of using Bach Rescue Remedy. I believe it helps me. But I can’t claim it will do the same for you or for anyone else.
I bought my own Bach Flower Rescue Remedy more than a decade ago, when my grandmother was dying. It was a very stressful time. It seems as if this gentle flower essence eased the anxiety.
People who use homeopathy believe it’s amazingly effective. It seems to provide quick relief and, oftentimes, deep healing as well. The only downside is the potential difficulty in finding the right remedy, and knowing when to not take another dose. Oftentimes, multiple doses are needed. But if you take too many, you run the risk of creating an “aggravation.”
An aggravation is a temporary intensification of symptoms. Especially in the case of anxiety, you don’t want this to happen.
Some people believe Bach Remedies can’t cause aggravations. My own homeopath, however, thinks they can. That’s why it’s important to stop taking any remedy once it’s done its job.
I reserve Rescue Remedy for shock and trauma situations. Recently, for instance, I heard some devastating news. Immediately, I put a drop of Rescue on the inside of my wrist. Within hours, I started to view the situation in an entirely new light. Needless to say, this flower essence is something I never want to be without.
What’s a Good Homeopathic Remedy for Anxiety?
Dr. Bach, whom I mentioned earlier, started out as a medical doctor. But he later became a famous homeopath.
He wanted to find a new way to treat people with anxiety. So he developed a set of remedies known as Bach essences. These were water dilutions made from flowers. He noticed they resulted in a gentler form of healing, without those troublesome “aggravations” seen with regular remedies.
Dr. Bach dedicated much of his life to these anxiety remedies. He firmly believed that better emotional health leads to improvements in physical well being. Also, he was convinced, negative thought patterns lead to disease.
Bach Rescue Remedy Natural Stress Relief
There are 38 different Bach flower remedies. Each one is designed for a specific emotional condition. However, by far, the best known of his creations is Rescue Remedy. This is considered safe for everyone, even for children, according to Dr. Bach. In recent years, Bach Rescue has also been formulated just for pets.
The advantage of Rescue Remedy is that it’s a good overall stress formula, for anyone. You don’t need a professional to select it for you. This is much different than regular homeopathy, with thousands of possible remedies.
Rescue works very well when you’re going through an intensely stressful period. People often take it after hearing bad news, to protect them from the shock, or just before an anxiety-provoking situation.

Rescue Remedy is a blend of five flower essences. There are 37 other individual remedies. These are intended for specific situations. I’ve also used some of these formulas, with what appears to be very good success.
Although Bach remedies are gentle, my own homeopath discourages indiscriminate use. Instead, she says use them only when you need them. Discontinue when they’ve done their job. If you don’t feel anxious you don’t need another dose. You can always take another dose later, if anxiety strikes again.
