Where Does Plant Therapy Get Its Oils?

June 9, 2017 in Essential Oils

where does Plant Therapy get its oilsMany of my readers like essential oils. They’ve found, like me, that they have amazing benefits. You can use them for natural pain control, headache relief and to naturally boost your mood, without drugs.

You can also use them to clean your house. In fact, I’ve been able to replace chemical cleaners with essential oils. Because they’re so concentrated, they seem to pack some cleaning power.

I’ve even used essential oils on my dog’s collar, for natural flea control. When company comes to visit, I put a few drops of aromatic oils in my cold air essential oil diffuser. This makes the house smell great. It’s much better than burning scented candles in a jar, which I did before I realized they’re a common cause of indoor pollution. That’s because they’re made from paraffin, derived from petroleum. (Like having truck fumes in your kitchen.)

Plant Therapy is one of the companies I mention most on my site. That’s because its oils are really high quality, but affordable. It’s not a multilevel marketing operation. So its oils tend to be a lot less expensive than comparable singles and blends sold MLM style. There’s no monthly minimum to maintain either.

Many people just getting started with essential oils assume we have to buy them from an MLM company. That’s what I thought too, until I ordered my first bottle of Plant Therapy peppermint oil, fell in love, and realized I could save a lot of money shopping outside of an MLM network. Plant Therapy, in my humble opinion, is one of the best alternatives to MLM labels. That’s why I continue to buy them, long after my first purchase of peppermint essential oil.

Plant Therapy essential oils are very affordable. If you’re looking to build your collection, you can save even more money if you buy them in a kit. Oils in the KidSafe line are considered safe for children aged 2 and older. But these full-strength oils can also be used by adults.

Where Do Plant Therapy Oils Come From?

Oftentimes, I get questions about Plant Therapy essential oils. Lately, I’ve noticed that some people are searching for information on where this company obtains its oils. So I decided to find out. My readers are very interested in essential oils, and are often looking for more affordable choices than the MLM networks.

Reader interest in Plant Therapy essential oils seems to be high, judging by the number of questions I get, and the search terms I see. So I decided to go straight to the source, to find out where the oils come from. Even though I already knew the answer – they come from all over the world – I wanted to get more specific. It’s considered good practice to obtain oils from plants grown in their native habitat. That’s why it becomes a global quest for high-quality oils.

Anyway, after reaching out to Plant Therapy for more information, here’s what I was told.

    • Our oils come from all over the world. For example; Amyris comes from Haiti; Balm Mint Bush comes from Australia; Balsam Fir comes from Canada; Basil Linalool comes from Hungary; Bergamot comes from Italy; Black Pepper is from Sri Lanka; Blue Tansy comes from Morocco and so much more.
    • I was also sent a link to an article that appeared on the Plant Therapy blog, about how the company’s owner, as well as its vice president, personally travel to different parts of the world, since they have relationships with farmers and growers. If you’re interested, you can read more about their travels here.
    • Here’s a link to another article about how Plant Therapy’s owner traveled to France, to visit another farm and distillery. France is the source of Melissa, lavender, thyme, lavendin, clary sage and juniper essential oils. I like how Plant Therapy clearly distinguishes between lavender and lavendin, a hybrid that yields a relatively large amount of essential oil per plant. It’s been widely reported that one problem throughout the industry is substituting lavendin for real lavender. It’s good to know that Plant Therapy doesn’t do this.
